UDCC Forum V: Edge computing In-Person

UDCC Forum: Exploring Edge Computing & Big Data Management

The UDCC Forum meets monthly at different locations across UU, bringing together colleagues interested in digital competencies. Each session consists of two parts, an open agenda for sharing work followed by a deep dive into a specific topic. The UDCC forum is followed by lunch, please register for catering purposes.

On May 13th, the special session will consider methods of managing large volumes of data from research devices, such as microscopes, sequencers, and sensors. We will examine a pilot project currently running with Veterinary Medicine and ITS to offload, process, and analyze data through central storage and high performance computing. This session is held in collaboration with the HPC Spring School, which is supported by the UDCC. We’ll discuss methods for managing large research data from devices like microscopes, sequencers, and sensors.

A pilot project with Veterinary Medicine and ITS will be showcased, demonstrating how data can be offloaded, processed, and analyzed using central storage and high-performance computing. This session is part of the HPC Spring School, supported by the UDCC.

Speakers: Richard Wubbolts, Jelle Treep, and Roy Coumans
Location: Androclusgebouw C026
