Datamanagement in practice

Datamanagement in practice In-Person

In this half-day workshop we aim to provide you with hands-on experience on working with data. By participating you will learn and apply common research data management and data cleaning skills. You will select from three pre-selected datasets: qualitative data, animal data and human data. You will then clean these datasets by for example: removing outliers, updating variables, dropping columns, de-identifying data, adding missing values and/or recoding data. You will also re-name files, change folder structures and merge datasets where needed to make sure the data remains interoperable and is ready for re-use. You will then finish by publishing your finalized dataset into the DEMO-DataverseNL institutional repository.

Prerequisites

  • You do not need any prior experience. The workshop is suitable for beginners.
  • The workshop is open to participants from Utrecht University (UU) and UU-affiliated organizations (for example, UMC Utrecht) only.
